Sunshine at last!

After weeks of rain, at last a chance to cut some hay.
Good view from the tractor cab tonight whilst turning some hay. Just hope the weather holds dry for us to get it all baled up nice and dry.

Choir wins Llangollen

Well done to all of the members of Ysgol Gerdd Ceredigion, who won the Youth Choir of the year, at today’s Llangollen International Eisteddfod.
Especially our daughter Elen who has enjoyed singing with them at both Llangollen, and the Symphony Hall in Birmingham, this week!

Foxgloves love the rain!

The wet weather here in West Wales is playing havoc with our farming. The only thing that seems to like the rain is the crop of foxgloves growing on the bank in front of the house!

Mowing begins

With the weather having been so unsettled recently, having a couple of dry days promised, allows us to make a start on silage making for the cows’ winter feed.

Olympic torch

A beautiful sunny Sunday in Cardigan, and the Olympic torch makes its way through the town. There was a huge crowd in the streets!

Direct drilling

Joel Westaway, our Harper Adams placement student has a go at direct drilling forage rape for sheep, into fodder beet stubble. The field has not been ploughed since the beet was lifted in the winter to provide valuable fodder for the lambing ewes.
